It’s third party and as far as I know AO3 have recommended not using it. They don’t control the log in, essentially you’re giving your log in details to ??? No idea but not AO3.

@wrangletangle might be able to confirm otherwise.

AO3 does not have an app.

I repeat: AO3 does not have an app.

This is a third-party piece of software that is not authorized by the AO3 team. It may do any of the following: charge you money for a free site, store your login details and use them to log in as you later, store information about your searches and works you open, sell that data, get hacked and lose that data without selling it, include bugs that may mess up your phone, break when AO3 updates, etc. In addition, AO3′s Support team cannot help you if any of this happens, because it’s not our software.

AO3 is designed to work on mobile directly in a browser. Just bookmark AO3 in your browser of choice and store that bookmark on your phone’s screen. Then set your preferences to “View Full Work” so that you load the whole text of each work instead of chapter by chapter, in case of loss of connection.

Seriously, fake apps are not secure. Your data is going through some rando who can decide what they want to do with it, and no one can stop them. Don’t extend the trust you have for the AO3 team to anyone who makes an app to profit off a free site.
