Fuck that shit. I’m fifty-fucking-four years old; I was “raised that way,” but that doesn’t mean I can’t learn better, and it doesn’t absolve me of responsibility for my attitudes and behavior. I’m definitely a little late to the party, I’ve definitely been a problematic asshole in the past, and however much I’ve learned (or more to the point, UN-learned), I’ve still got a long way to go.
“Raised that way” is an explanation, but I’ll be damned if I’ll let it be an excuse. For me, or for any other old fucks like myself.
